Since 1 July 2008, e-Safety Check has replaced the traditional paper-based inspection scheme (pink slips). All Authorised Inspection Stations now transmit the inspection report to the RTA electronically.
By transmitting e-Safety Check inspection results electronically to the RTA, you can renew your registration online with myRego or over the phone.
Vehicles more than five years old will require a safety inspection as a condition of registration renewal. Your registration renewal notice will advise if your vehicle needs an inspection.
If your vehicle requires an inspection and you wish to renew your registration, you need to get an e-Safety Check first.
An e-Safety Check (formerly known as pink slip) is valid for 42 days from the date of issue.
The Entrance Motors can do a e-safety check while you wait. This service takes around 15 minutes.
